I wrote this song initially from an idea I jotted down while driving through downtown Tokyo coming back home with my band from a studio practice session (imagine the taxi scene from Lost In Translation). While at a stop light I looked over and saw a young woman trudging up the sidewalk, somewhat bundled against a cold breeze. She was definitely on her way somewhere but seemed to have this "barrier" around her -- it made me think that is must be tough growing up as a young woman and living in a big city like Tokyo "makes you tough don't it" -- From there the song grew out of a great drum track I found (psuedo-Pete Yorn style beat) and a hook-lick for the intro remeniscent of 60's pop sound -- this is a great song to play/hear live and to crank up while driving down the road -- the late chorus/bridge builds to and outstanding rock lead break played by Yoshiki (well.. at least I really love this song -- hope you do too
